Sander's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom was recorded by the PaTRAM Choir under the direction of Peter Jermihov. The recording took place over five days at the Church of at the Serbian Monastery of New Gracanica.

Kurt Sander completed a commission by the Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music Institute for a new Orthodox liturgy in the English language. The work is scheduled to be recorded in August, 2017 by the St. Romanos Choir under the direction of Peter Jermihov.

The Society of St. Romanos and the Pastriarch Tikhon Russian American Institute (PaTRAM) has commissioned Kurt Sander to compose a new hierarchical liturgy to be premiered in 2017. The work will be inspired by the Slavic choral tradition and composed organically from the English language texts.

Kurt Sander's choral work O Gladsome Light was selected as a semi-finalist in the Choral Composition Division of the American Prize, a national arts competition. Finalists will be announced in September. To read more about the American Prize click here.

The Psalm 103 Project continues to generate a significant amount of excitement in advance of the collective work's premiere. Project director Richard Barrett presented the project to attendees at the meeting of the International Society of Orthodox Christian Church Musicans in Joensuu, Finland this past summer. The ensemble Cappella Romana under the direction of John Michael Boyer conducts a musical meditation on Psalm 103 (“Bless the Lord, O my soul”), the Orthodox Vesperal Psalm, and a reflection on God’s glory revealed in creation.
​
The program premieres a new setting of Psalm 103 by Kurt Sander and five other Orthodox composers, including a double-choir motet by the late Richard Toensing, sung in English with the traditional Orthodox refrains. John Michael Boyer, composer and Cappella Romana associate music director, conducts.
